Mia Canter

I'm Mia. I'm an artist bent on bringing lots of heart and a little bit of magic to Shakespeare, new works, musicals, TV & film. I love the collaborative process -- whether I'm acting, directing, writing, or designing poster art, being part of a team that works with curiosity and commitment to make something good brings me crazy amounts of joy.

I grew up in LA with movie-turned-cookie business parents, Annie on repeat, and a lot of Jewish deli, so when I made the move to New York to train as an actor at NYU Tisch, absolutely no one was surprised. I've bounced back and forth between Brooklyn and Beverly Hills in pursuit of good stories, good people, and good bagels in equal parts ever since.

Now home in LA, you can find me slinging cookies at the family shop, taking class at The Groundlings School, teaching teens iambic pentameter, and writing scripts about hoop skirts. But I'm always available to read your pilot, perform that soliloquy, hum a harmony, direct a backyard play, or doodle a party invitation. If your need is creative,
